- about scoliosis
- scoliosis is an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine. i have known that i've had scoliosis since 4th grade. as i continued to go to the doctor over the past years, it seemed as though my curve was stable, thanks to bracing. but, soon enough, my back began to reject the guidance of the brace. that was when my doctor, my parents, and i decided that it was best to proceed with surgery. during the surgery, my doctor will be inserting 2 rods (either stainless or cobalt chrome) on either sides of my spine. they will be fused to my backbone. :) lovely, right? i will have a scar, but let's just pretend it's from something way cooler, like a shark attack, ok?
